Stimulus Approval Update

Billy McCoy got an initial victory today with the full House voting to accept all funds for the state from the stimulus package. By a mainly partisan 69-52 vote, House Concurrent Resolution 64 certifies the state’s intention to request and use all of the money, even the portion Haley Barbour is objecting to.
Senate Democrats are trying to push similar legislation in that chamber, but with Phil Bryant opposing it, chance of passage is minimal.
