Butch Brown’s Latest Tactics
I suppose this was not suppose to get out:
An e-mail circulated inside the Mississippi Department of Transportation notifies MDOT employees about a poll on a Mississippi news Web site on whether MDOT Executive Director Larry L. “Butch” Brown should be confirmed in upcoming Senate hearings.
The e-mail was sent to MDOT division directors and district engineers on Wednesday.
“As many of you know, Mr. Brown is currently up for reconfirmation by the Mississippi Senate,” the e-mail from Gina Colon in the Office of the Executive Director says. “There is an open poll on the Magnolia Report Website (www.magnoliareport.com) asking whether or not he should be confirmed by the Senate. The poll is being flooded with negative votes from a contingent in Rankin County. I encourage you (if you feel so inclined) and your staff members to vote “yes” that Mr. Brown should be confirmed as the executive director of MDOT by the Senate. Thank you.”
You can see the poll here. Interestingly, as Brown noted, the poll results were strongly against Brown when the poll first debuted. Now that this story has been released, and we know he sent e-mails asking for support from people under him, and he now should be confirmed according to the poll.
Here is a question for Mr. Brown- do you and your employees have nothing better to do than vote in online polls?
And does this surprise anyone?
I don’t think so…….
