Wicker Talks About Border Violence on MSNBC
I must say I am a bit surprised that he agreed with Sen. John Kerry’s assessment that military troops are not needed on the border to help reduce violence.
Check below the fold for more information on Wicker’s trip to El Paso.
From WXVT:
U.S. Sen. Roger Wicker says he’s pleased the Senate Foreign Relations Committee has gotten a closer look at the escalating drug-related violence along the U.S.-Mexico border.
Wicker, R-Miss., joined other committee members at a field hearing in El Paso, Texas, where the group heard from officials from both countries about the violence and discussed ways to help end it.
Wicker said in a Monday statement that the drug war is a serious situation that “America cannot ignore.” He says the violence across the border from El Paso is alarming in terms of its frequency as well as its proximity to the U.S.

YET… Wicker’s a pro-fence guy. He’s just being cautious about not over reacting too soon.
And no matter what Ronnie Musgrove had to say, he’s not partisan for the sake of the fight.
