I mentioned it on Twitter, but think it deserves to be mentioned here and that is that NASCAR threw the red flag and the car’s shut their engines off at 3pm in honor of the national moment of silence. I thought it was a pretty classy move.
Also Memorial Day related: Pres. Obama ignored calls by “scholars” to quit the 80+ year old tradition of laying a wreath at the Confederate monument at Arlington.
He did start his own tradition, which included laying a wreath at a monument honoring African-American Civil War soldiers. Both classy moves by the president IMHO.
