NAACP Tries To Kick GOP Candidate Out of Meridian Special Election

June 8, 2009

It is a shame the NAACP no longer stands for what it once did. And what is that? Equality. The NAACP could care less about equal access for all. No, they just want to help elect Democrats in the same fashion that the DNC does. And if you don’t believe me, pay attention to what is happening in Meridian.

In a special election for District 82 in the state House, Bill Marcy has qualified to run as a Republican. Marcy made a point of saying that the election commissioners have cleared him to run, but Rev. Milton Johnson and the local NAACP have the nerve to call him out and say he should drop out of the race. Think someone is scared?

I should also note that Marcy is African-American.

Who would of thought they would live to see the day when the NAACP is calling for a black candidate to drop out of a race?

In the race, there are four Democrats running (as well as Marcy), and the top two vote getters will advance to a runoff should no candidate receive a majority. I am not saying Marcy will win, which makes this move by the NAACP even more surprising. It is a solid Democrat district, where 66 percent of the voters are black. While Marcy may be able to advance to the runoff, a win would be very shocking- to say the least.

And for a profile on Marcy, check this out from the Meridian Star.

And tune in to Paul Gallo tomorrow morning, as he will be a guest on the show.

I read about the march that protested the inmates of the Lauderdale County Jail. I tried to tell the Sheriffs Office and everyone else the same thing a long time ago when my son was there. He had his ankle broken, I was lied to about visitation, He was beaten by the officers, the food was not edible, he stayed sick and no one cared about him. I am proud to see a group approach this and I would love to help you in this cause. I would be more than happy to help you and can certainly tell anyone what I went through with my son while he was there. He was treated worse than any animal I have ever seen. We have laws to protect animals but the Sheriffs Office here does exactly what they want to do to our loved ones.

What are you thinking?
