Memo To Mississippi Democrats: There Is a New Invention Called the Telephone

Below is a picture of Alexander Graham Bell speaking into a telephone in 1876. And next to that is a newer invention called a cell phone (it actually gets e-mail and Internet, but I won’t explain all that in this post). Both of these devices allow you to communicate when you are not within speaking distance of a person.

For example, say you are in Jackson and another person who you are hoping to speak with is in another state here is what you do: you pick up that phone, dial the number (10 digits including area code), they answer, and then like magic the two of you are talking (If you need more information on how to make a phone call, check out eHow for a detailed step-by-step guide).
