Henry Ross To Run For MS-01; Not Senate
I pulled up this story from the Commercial Dispatch that ran last week saying that former Eupora mayor Henry Ross plans to run for the Senate. I admitted that seemed a little strange after reading that, and they have updated it to say he is running for Congress- not the Senate.
While Senators Merle Flowers and Alan Nunnelee are often talked about as potential candidates, I believe Ross is the first GOP candidate to make it official.
For outsiders wondering about another potential geographical split similar to 2008, Eupora is located in Webster County on the Eastern side of the district. That said, I believe it was the only county outside of DeSoto and Tate counties (both in the Northwestern part of the state) to support the GOP candidate Greg Davis last time around.
