Do You Remember This Sign?

June 17, 2009

A couple months ago I spotted this sign on Highway 78 in Fulton, and posted a simple question in this post: How Many Taxpayer Dollars Were Spent On This Sign?

Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK), who is one of the most fiscally conservative Senators, issued a list of 100 questionable uses of taxable dollars courtesy of the stimulus funds. Included in that list are signs like the one above which are appearing throughout the country so incumbent politicians can get free advertising. Well, it’s not really free- each sign cost the taxpayer $300. Worth it?

Not worth at all especially when the signs are not grammatically correct. Reinvestment Act and American Recovery should probably read American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. So basically your left with a $300 sign thats not even worded right. Government waste, go figure.

What are you thinking?
