Friday Ramblings with Robert
Welcome to the end of the week and another great Friday.
End of the World as We Know It
The end is near here in Mississippi, so brace yourself. Mullet King Hood and the Democrats in MS are out scaring people again and want you to think that MS will absolutely cease to operate without a budget in place. Granted, we do need to get it done and have something that everyone can agree on, but the idea to go out and stir people up and have them believe that the end is near is a bit over the top. Gov. Barbour is playing hardball and I don’t blame him he is the governor after all and like it or not the image and perception of the state as well as all the failures fall on his lap not the legislators here in Mississippi, so he should have a major say in how things shake down. Just as a public service announcement I would like all Mississippians to know that the world is in fact not ending based on this budget mess and we will be alright.
Gotta Talk about Mark Sanford
Just can’t pass up the opportunity to talk about this subject. Mark Sanford finally turned up after going missing for a week and had to come out publicly and admit to an affair he had been having with an Argentine woman. Check out his email exchanges with this woman here. Talk about going global, you would think if he were going to cheat he could maybe at least keep it domestic. It is almost as if he were asking for trouble by going this far out on a limb. I still am under the assumption that these big political figures who cheat on their wives do it to further stoke their egos and feel almost this sense of invincibility to it all. Too bad Sanford isn’t a Democrat because he could definitely still be elected President, but as a Republican his political career has taken the same path as the Titanic.
Haley Assumes New Role and Heads to Iowa and NH
Gov. Barbour took over as the head of the Republican Governors Association a little earlier than expected this week because Mark Sanford couldn’t control his yearning for an Argentine woman. This is a good role for Barbour and the party as a whole. I really believe he will have great success as the top guy and will be able to deliver some key victories in critical governors races over the next year and a half. Also, Haley made a stop in Iowa and will head to NH next to speak at fund raising events as the head of the RGA. Maybe now that Haley is the head of RGA and has a better excuse to attend these events MS Democrats will back off criticisms of him visiting these states. Yeah, probably not, MS Democrats political strategy is seriously questionable when the best they can do is the Mullet King. Maybe they can get him to sue Haley to come back to MS.
Have a good weekend.
