Mississippi Senators Split On Census Director Approval

By a vote of 76-15, the Senate approved Robert M. Groves, of Michigan, to be Director of the Census. Here is a link to the full roll call.

Thad Cochran joined a number of Republicans and the entire Democrat caucus in supporting Groves. Roger Wicker was among the 15 Republicans who opposed the nominee. Why do I think Wicker made the smart move in opposing Groves? Because ACORN supports him:
