I Guess This Is What The JD Has Time For

August 28, 2009

Elections have consequences. I am learning the meaning of that phrase every minute of everyday. One of the consequences of electing a liberal president is you have to live with their Attorney General.

For example:

New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson and former high-ranking members of his administration won’t be criminally charged in a yearlong federal investigation into pay-to-play allegations involving one of the Democratic governor’s large political donors, someone familiar with the case said.

The decision not to pursue indictments was made by top Justice Department officials.

Or:

Charges brought against three members of the New Black Panther Party for Self-Defense under the Bush administration have been dropped by the Obama Justice Department, FOX News has learned.

The charges stemmed from an incident at a Philadelphia polling place on Election Day 2008 when three members of the party were accused of trying to threaten voters and block poll and campaign workers by the threat of force — one even brandishing what prosecutors call a deadly weapon.

While we can’t go after a corrupt governor or those who intimidate voters, Bennie Thompson has a great idea:

U.S. Rep. Bennie Thompson has officially requested that the U.S. attorney general to investigate an incident in which residents of Sumner conducted a search for a burglary suspect.

“I have asked U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder to investigate the vigilante type activities that occurred in Tallahatchie County, Mississippi, last Thursday,” Thompson announced today in a news release.

“The fact that this community still (bears) the stains of racial tensions and is the area that Emmett Till was murdered weighs heavy on the conscience and fears of this community.”

Is anybody else enjoying this post-racial period as much as I am? Move out of the way Black Panthers, move over Bill Richardson, there’s some vigilante justice in the Delta and the JD is here to stop it! And we’ll do it in Emmett Till’s honor.

You don’t like due process, Brett, our should it be reserved for good white folks like yourself?
Vigilante justice is no justice at all; in fact, it’s against the law.

What are you thinking?
