Barbour Cuts ACORN Funding Out

Governor Haley Barbour issued an executive order yesterday to cut off any state funding to ACORN, the much maligned community organizing group that likes to give advice on setting up houses of prostitution on videotape.

Barbour’s order was delivered to the secretary of state’s office on Monday. Barbour said in a news release he wants the state fiscal officer to conduct a review of the state’s relationship with ACORN and cut off any funding of current contracts.

This is a good move and not really all that surprising considering that even Democrats are trying to distance themselves from this group that has benefitted them greatly in the past.
