Morgan Freeman Writes Fundraising Letter for Luckett
October 13, 2009
Actor Morgan Freeman recently drafted a fundraising letter for his friend and Democrat gubernatorial candidate Bill Luckett. Freeman will act as a host for a Los Angeles cocktail party for Luckett next week. You can read more details of the letter here.

With the trial lawyer fundraising machine hurting in light of several high-profile scandals, it looks like the Mississippi Democrats are looking to Hollywood to bail them out for the next governor’s race. No word yet on when the Democrats will begin offering Hollywood for Luckett bumper stickers.
Morgan Freeman should stick with what he knows best, inappropriate relationships, reckless driving and acting. The perfect Hollywood pitch.
I respect what Freeman has done over his career, and I even mentioned his movie Prom Night in Mississippi on this blog which doesn’t exactly paint the state in a positive light. I think he has the state’s best interest at heart. However, he ought to stick to Hollywood like you said. A Hollywood fundraiser for a Mississippi candidate just makes it too easy.
It’d be nice to see the actual letter and see who it was sent to.
