Billy McCoy Endorses Personhood Initiative
Speaker of the House Billy McCoy became the latest political leader in Mississippi to add his support behind the Personhood amendment which “would amend the Mississippi Constitution to define the word “person” or “persons”, as those terms are used in Article III of the state constitution, to include every human being from the moment of fertilization, cloning, or the functional equivalent thereof.”
He joins Lt. Gov. Phil Bryant and Auditor Stacey Pickering as the most prominent politicians in the state who have signed the voter initiative. Several state legislators have signed on, including Alan Nunnelee.
I am glad to see bi-partisan support with leaders from both Republicans and Democrats; however it is disappointing that neither party has taken the issue on.
