About 55,000

November 12, 2009

That is the number of people that have signed the voter ID initiative according to Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann. Supporters will need about 90,000 signatures to have the issue put on the ballot for voters to decide on. Hosemann did not know if the collected signatures have been divided equally among the old five districts, but said a website has been set up to track that requirement. The signatures must be gathered by February 14th for the issue to go on the 2011 ballot.

Does any one know the web site for tracking signatures by districts? I would like to see it.I have heard that Dist. 3 is finished and Dist. 1 needs to get signatures certified.
