MS-01: McGlowan Weighing Options
Fox News analyst and conservative author Angela McGlowan, who has been a prominent Tea Party speaker in North Mississippi, said she might enter the GOP primary for the First District congressional seat held by Travis Childers.
When asked if she would run, McGlowan said she was “looking at that right now” but had no definitive answer. She said her decision would depend upon whether she felt a Republican challenger has emerged that could be competitive against Childers.
That seems to be a dig at state Sen. Alan Nunnelee who has already announced his intentions to run. He is the front-runner for the GOP ticket and has the backing from the state and national party.
I wrote more about McGlowan over the summer.

Where in Mississippi does she live? At least Nunnelee and Ross are residents of our state.
As far as Nunnelee goes he will be a great rep. McGlowan does a great job on Fox and I enjoy watching her and I agree with her point of view but does she really live here?
McGlowan has residence in Lafayette county. She obviously is out of the state alot, but I don’t know if she actually lives anywhere else or just travels to those places.
I don’t have anything against McGlowan or Ross and if this was an open seat without much Democratic opposition- like say the 3rd district last time- I’d say we can take a risk. But not against a strong incumbent like Childers.
Personally as a former long-time GOP activist (twice sought state chairmanship when I felt leaders were on the wrong path) but now more of a Joe Scarbrough a plague on both parties type), I would welcome Angela McGlowan’s entry in the race. I think it would be a wise move if Mississippi would elect a conservative female, who also happens to be black, to Congress. She could be a very good counterpart to the liberal blacks serving.
Isn’t affirmative action dead? Elect Angela based solely on being the best person to rep us. Brett says she has a home in this district enough said. Angela tell me how you can represent me. No Deals, No Debt. That’s all I want. This is going to be one helleva race. Send Childers back to Booneville. I’ll help him pack.
Run Angela run! Looking foward to a positive announcement.
McGlowan will definitely bring money, glitz and glamour to the political primaries here in MS1. While Angela has the financial backing of her international billionaire husband, John Venners, Nunnelee is quickly building his campaign funds with donations from big buisiness (who will be looking for something in return I am sure).
Henry Ross still remains the peoples candidate by covering District 1 speaking at Rotary clubs, Kwainis meetings, AMVets, Veterans of Foreign Wars luncheons. With his wife Ann, at his side, Ross wants to meet the people and hear what they have to say. Like Scott Brown, he is going door to door without the help of the big political machine. I am sure that funding will become an issue once the primary is over for him but he wants to remain a true independant conservative republican not beholden to anyone.
