MS-04: Palazzo Makes Announcement on Gallo
State Representative Steven Palazzo (R-Biloxi) announced this morning while on the Paul Gallo Show on Supertalk MS that he will throw his hat in the ring to challenge Fourth Congressional District Democrat Congressman Gene Taylor. Palazzo must first face Joe Tegerdine in the Republican primary. Tegerdine has already qualified to run for the seat and has been working to form a grassroots organization while visiting locations throughout the district.

This is good finally a primary in D4! It will be fun to watch.
Do progressive liberals hope or think Joe Tegerdine will back out after almoast a year of work and support? Do they think he will back down to a little competition? He will Not! Bring it!
Thousands of people have donated to Joe’s election and the donors are Mississippians like most of us reading this. I heard Joe has hundreds of volunteers. He wants to represent and WORK FOR all of the 4th district united and has visited every county multiple times because he cares about all the counties in the 4th district. I like that. It is the way it should be.
More importantly Joe Tegerdine cares about America and the America left to his children. What can be more motivating?
This Mom supports Joe.
“Thousands of people have donated to Joe’s election”
They must have donated only a few bucks each because the FEC reports him as raising $18,214 as of December.
If Palazzo raises money like he has for his State races then this will be interesting. Tegerdine will have a strong grassroots campaign, but Palazzo may have a war chest. Regardless of who wins the primary it will take both money and grassroots to beat Taylor.
Remember, Palazzo was born and raised in the district so he will have more than a war chest. He has a significant number of friends, contacts and a pretty large family on the Coast. He also went to college in the district, getting both his bachelors and masters at Southern Miss. Like his GOP opponent, Palazzo cares very much for America for he has served in its military for over ten years. And with three children of his own, he cares about the America left to his children. I am convinced Palazzo is the man who can beat Taylor and win this seat back for Republicans.
It sounds to me like the tradition career politicians are all excited about this Scott Brown win. The opportunists are beginning to come out of the woodwork.
Ray it seems that the opportunists are comming out in every race in the state.
If it is like this all over the country Nov. might actually be good to the democratic party.
Sounds like some candidate training is in order on how to reconcile after a primary. If Republicans keep it mostly clean a two or three candidate primary would actually benefit the winner in the general election especially if they are challengers. Every commitment to one of the challengers is a vote against the incumbent. (Minus crossing over party lines to vote for the weaker candidate of course)
Palazzo having been in the Marines means little to me. Murtha was in the Marines too. Have you ever read some of the lame comments he made? It was shocking. Pallazo was asked quite some time ago if he wanted to run. He wasn’t even going to consider it until the Scott Brown win. Doesn’t Pallazo come from the same general area that Lott did? If he’s tied to that guy in any way I don’t want him. I’ve been furious with Lott since they basically blackmailed him into doing the Clinton impeachment hearings behind closed doors. What a scum bag.
