Progress For Mississippi Ditches Obama Logo
February 22, 2010
Progress For Mississippi, the organization started by 2011 Democratic gubernatorial candidate Bill Luckett with the intention of raising money for Democrats, has decided to change up the logo on their website.
As I mentioned last June, the PFM logo looked very familiar to the one used by Obama’s presidential campaign. Here is what they use to have on their website:

And here is what they have now:

Are they now trying to distance themselves from the president?

I did’t even realize that website still existed. For some reason I thought Progress for MS got rolled-into “Bill Luckett for Governor” months ago. Well whatever it’s called it’s pretty much a front-group for his campaign.
Apparently the Democrats speak for PFM and this is just part of their branding and marketing changes as they grow and change. I agree. Eight months ago they wanted to be branded as an Obama copycat with their logo. They wanted you to think Obama when you saw their logo. Today, they don’t or they wouldn’t have disolved the Obama logo completely.

You gotta love it. Well at least it looks like your blog is driving the rapid response out of the state Democrat Party.
I guess we could ask why the ED of a state political party is spending his time defending the logo changes of an independently registered PAC…but then again Luckett is their meal ticket for 2011.
I suspect – and just a suspicion – that the Democrat’s ED is defensive because he is now working for Luckett. I don’t know that for a fact, but I’ve noticed some of Luckett’s recent material (like his emails) has the style of Sam Hall. Again, I assume he is able to work for the Democrats and have his own clients, and I wouldn’t suggest there is anything wrong with that. I expect if my suspicions are incorrect, he’ll post here and let us know.
