Childers Doesn’t Mention Healthcare In Presser

February 24, 2010

When Rep. Travis Childers held his last tele-townhall in August, it was specifically intended to talk about the various healthcare bills that were pending in Congress at the time, as his press release stated. Childers will once again be holding a tele-townhall, but I found it interesting that his presser this time says he will discuss “jobs, the economy, and other important issues.”

I am sure healthcare will undoubtedly come up as it has made its way back into the news in light of Obama’s new healthcare proposal that was released on Monday and the so-called bi-partisan healthcare summit that will take place this week.

But, I imagine right now the last thing Childers wants is the healthcare debate floating around as he begins his re-election campaign. He wants to be as far away from the topic as possible. We know the number one concern of voters is the economy and jobs, and Childers’ realizes it as well.

Is Travis to good to come and speak with those he represents face to face.
Am I the only person who is offended by the fact that he does not even bother to meet with us face to face?
I will give him this much, he is one of the most arrogant politicians I have ever heard of, to not even take the time to meet with those he represents face to face.
This is like returning the call of someone that you really don’t want to talk to, so you call at a really bad time hoping they don’t answer and then give the excuse of “I called you and you didn’t answer.”
I have a better idea for Ole’ Travis how about you stay here in Dist. 1 for the next few months and hold tele-meetings with those in Washington. Then in November it wont be such a shock when you stay here all the time.

We the people of Ms are tired of putting people in office that does not repersent our values. It seams that they say one thing and do another. This Health Care Bill should be dead in the water. If there are any politicians that are that brave to side with obama and vote yes to pass this bill. I can only say one thing, come Nov. you will be looking for another job. Unless obama is going to give you one of these made up jobs he has creatived. You need to listen to the people that put you in office and vote NO. We are really tired of big government and are ready to get back to the basics.

What are you thinking?
