Cochran Firm In Opposition To Earmark Moratorium

Sen. Thad Cochran joined 14 other Republicans and most Democrats in opposing a bill that would have placed a one-year moratorium on earmarks. Sen. Roger Wicker also opposed the ban.
Cochran, who is well-known for bringing money back to Mississippi, argued that the moratorium is an “abdication of responsibility to the executive branch, adding, “the question proposed by the DeMint Amendment is whether Congress will allow the executive branch to make 100 percent of all the decisions about how spending is allocated or whether Congress will preserve its Constitutional prerogative to appropriate the funds for the purposes that it deems meritorious.”
Cochran said the current process allows the respective Senators to make decisions on how money is appropriated.
He also said that banning earmarks would not curb federal spending, and that it has “nothing to do with how much the federal government spends.”

Please explain to your poor old subject how you can spend federal money and it will not curb spending and has nothing to do with how much the government spends? Must be that congressional math I have seen lately.
Oh master Cochran how shall this loyal serf keep loyal to you? I am too stupid to understand math in DC, please forgive me. I will obey please don’t take anymore of my freedom and please spend money wherever you and your wife feel is for the common good.

Another reason Cochran has to go. What part of we don’t have the money to spend does he not understand?
I didn’ t realise Wicker also voted down this legislation, I guess it’s letter time to both of them.
One bad deal about all of this is, most likely, we will have to support both of them or risk a Marxist dem sneaking into the position.
Come November; Pop goes the Weasel!
