Barbour Will Retain Outside Counsel If Hood Declines

Haley Barbour quickly responded to Jim Hood’s letter stating he needs more time to study the healthcare bill before he would support a lawsuit. Barbour, as he promised in his initial press release, says he will go forward with outside counsel if Hood decides not to represent the state. His latest letter to Hood is below.

I am sure there is a great amount of pressure on Hood by the state Democratic Party not to support the lawsuits. At the same time, I think many people who support the legal challenges to healthcare would rather have someone who is wholeheartedly in support of the lawsuit, rather than one who had to be brought in kicking and screaming.
