Never Let A Serious Crisis Go To Waste
Those are the words of White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel who used that thinking to help propel initiatives like the federal stimulus, cap and trade, healthcare, and more. In other words, when you have a chance to pass legislation you normally wouldn’t, load up the wish list and go for it because you might not get another chance for a generation. Of course, on the flip side, you can use a crisis to prevent legislation you don’t like from ever becoming law.
While Emanuel and this White House may have coined the phrase, other liberals clearly subscribe to same philosophy:

Obviously, the Jackson Free Press is fortunate that no one there relies on gas in any way, shape or form.

If this wasn’t a terrorist attack, why the SWAT teams on the oil rigs? Didn’t the explosion occur on Earth Day, just when Obama was going to consider more off shore drilling? Politically who has the most to gain from this disaster?
for once i agree with you–and BTW, the armed “SWAT” teams zero said, come from the Dept.of the Interior–( FOREST SERVICE? BLM? )
