Friday Election Notebook
MS-01: Angela McGlowan had a glowing article in the Gulf Coast News recently that really read like a campaign press release. However, among the notable things mentioned in there it says that the radio station that cancelled McGlowan’s recent appearance was WMSU 92.1. According to the story, McGlowan was “in the studio when the station management threatened to suspend the host if McGlowan was permitted to go on.” I may be wrong here, but it looks like this particular radio station is a hip-hop station.
MS-01: In a recent email blast, Travis Childers announced that he has set up an ‘Economic Outlook’ website while singing the praises of the recent April jobs report saying, “Several factors have made these positive numbers possible, one of which is the continuing effort by Congress to pass legislation that creates jobs and expands the economy. With these measures in effect, working families now spend less on taxes and businesses are able to hire more employees.”
MS-01: Henry Ross recently posted his Tax Day Vision on Facebook laying out five points on lowering taxes.
MS-02: Coahoma County Democratic Party Chairperson Darron Griffin spoke with the Clarksdale Press Register about what the Democrats in the Second are up to as they await the GOP nominee to face Bennie Thompson in the fall.
MS-04: Joe Tegerdine posted on Facebook that he will be having a press conference next week to announce the endorsement of “three of the main Tea Party/ 912 organizations” in the district. Tegerdine called these groups the “key in unseating Gene Taylor.”
MS-04: The Clarke County GOP will be sponsoring a rally tomorrow at Clarkco State Park where several GOP candidates will speak including Steven Palazzo and Joe Tegerdine.
MS-04: The Picayune Item has a roundup on some of the shots that the Tegerdine and Palazzo camps have taken at each other over the past couple weeks mainly centered on debates and the company Tegerdine works for- WNC Satcom Group.
2010 House: Ronnie Shows wrote another article for The Huffington Post this week stressing the importance of Blue Dogs, this time calling them a “progressive’s best friend.” Shows added, “For Democrats, requiring strict adherence to party principles means being in the minority and not controlling Congress or the White House.” I find it interesting that Shows has chosen this platform for spreading his message. I wonder if there is anything more to it.
MSGOP: Jim Herring has a nice writeup on the recent Pioneer Dinner of the Mississippi Republican Party which honored the seven men who have received the Republican nomination for governor in the modern era. Herring also goes into a good bit of detail and history on Gil Carmichael, Jack Reed, and Rubel Phillips.

Any FACEBOOK posts this week by any of the candidates about individuals to whom they welcome to their campaign and/or gave signs to put out?
LOL probably not. MS
I guess now Steve will have to go out and find someone named “Tea Party” so he can welcome him to the campaign on his Facebook page.
That’s actually what Palazzo called Tegerdine on the Gallo show….Joe “Tea Party”…could not even pronounce his opponent’s last name on live radio…this was shortly after Palazzo announced his candidacy
