Childers Blasts Nunnelee At Last Night’s Tupelo Fundraiser

June 22, 2010

At a fundraiser in Tupelo last night, Rep. Travis Childers said this about the campaign, and his challenger- Alan Nunnelee: “You’ll have someone who has been an independent voice in Washington. Or you will have someone who has turned his back on school teachers and school children – someone who has not supported the mentally ill every time he had an opportunity to help them.”

No word on whether Childers said he would have supported raising taxes or draining the reserves to close the budget gap (it sure is easy when you are in Washington and don’t have to balance a budget isn’t it?).

But I thought the stimulus package Childers voted for was to help the public schools? So was that a vote for wasted money.

“No one, especially Alan Nunnelee, is going to outwork Travis Childers in this campaign,” he told the gathering hosted by the state’s top elected Democrats.

Now he is speaking about himself in the third person? Stephen Hill does not like Travis Childers. Wow I can do it too!

Well, I will be expecting the NE Daily Journal article on how important it is to keep it a clean race, and talk about the issues.

    I won’t hold my breath.

Once again the democrats are mixing apples and oranges. Childers(the Pelosi coat holder) and the rest of his ill fruit in congress have been in the position to help the states not be in a budgetary crisis simply by backing off of job killing, revenue sucking policies. Remember folks, its the ideaology and agenda that comes before the people they claim to serve and the states that have to deal with their budget busting programs. If the progressives did not push down such massive unfunded mandates our state legislators would not have to make nearly as many painful budget decisions. I believe that Mr. Nunnelee, as a state Senator has been concerned about the long term survival of our state and has tried to help us weather the financial storm being rained down by the demo-progressives. Childers, go hold Pelosi’s coat, she’s waiting for you in the congressional coat room.

What are you thinking?
