Bryant Campaign Ramps Up Fundraising

June 29, 2010

Lt. Gov. Phil Bryant generally sends out emails pertaining to the office he holds, but recently sent out a campaign email announcing several events in the near future as he begins his expected gubernatorial run.

Bryant is in the process of forming Steering Committees, which will then “serve as a good opportunity for concerned citizens to become more actively involved in the legislative process by promoting ideas and discussion from all parts of Mississippi.” Meetings in July are set to take place in Rankin, Jackson, Lauderdale, Forrest and Madison counties (which also happen to be some of the most important battleground counties in the GOP primary).

Bryant is also hosting about a dozen fundraising events between now and mid-November. He has already had one event in Rankin county and the upcoming schedule includes appearances in Jackson, Brookhaven, Tunica, Oxford, Pascagoula, Indianola, Laurel, Madison, Starkville, Vicksburg, Hattiesburg, and Columbus.

Here is what the email said about fundraising: “Lt. Governor Bryant continues holding fundraising events across the state in order to have strong financial resources going into 2011. As everyone knows, campaigns are expensive, so your continued financial support is greatly appreciated this year.”

Also of interest; the email is sent from Phil Bryant for Lt. Governor. Of course, that can change pretty easily but no need to tip his hat right now even though we know he would not need this fundraising apparatus to win re-election as lieutenant governor.
