Barbour’s Job Approval Rating 70 Percent

July 19, 2010

To my surprise- and delight- when Rasmussen was polling citizens on issues related to the oil spill- they also measured job approval ratings for Haley Barbour and Barack Obama in the Magnolia State.

Barbour’s approval rating is a very impressive 70 percent. Of that 41 percent strongly approve and 28 percent somewhat approve. His disapproval rating is 28 percent- split with 14 each between somewhat and strong disapprove. Also interestingly, just about everybody has an opinion of the two-term governor- with only one percent not having an opinion.

Barbour won re-election in 2007 with a little less than 60 percent of the vote. Polling in Mississippi is very scarce, but these numbers show Barbour has been able to remain popular even as he had to make very difficult decisions mainly related to the budget over the past year.

Also, a 70 percent approval rating puts Barbour is very elite and rare company among today’s governors who have generally seen their numbers shrinking along with state budgets and jobs.

Obama’s approval rating in the state stands at 37 percent with 28 percent strongly approving. The president’s disapproval rating is at 60 percent with 54 percent strong disapproving.

Really ? Of what ? He looks, sounds, and acts exactly as what he self describes : a fat redneck ( which explains his 70% approval ratings ).

BTW: who is Don ? and why do you want him to walk on you ?

I am not sure you are reading it right. It says Don’t read on me, and we all tread the same sod. I agree he is fat. His neck looks white in the picture. I have not been kissing his neck, maybe you know something I don’t. If so, do tell.

Hayley Barbour, is counting on the ignorance of voters. We are wising up. I hope.
I will never forget how Barbour missuses the Mississippi taxpayers dollars by abusing the medical system with off hour visits. He is entitled, right? Just like Pelosi is entitled to use the Air Force Jets? Right?
I understand a nurse lost her job over suggesting Hayley Barbour come during regular hours to save taxpayers money. Shhh Quiet don’t expose anything bad about Hayley Barbour, he wants to run for president. No bad press! Say something negative abo9ut Barbour and get FIRED!
Barbour has the bottomless expense account syndrome. Politics Pelosi Style makes me sick!

Did you really expect the governor to sit in the waiting room? Medical care after hours is a little different than flying coast to coast at taxpayer expense weekly. Compare apples to apples, this is sounds like sour grapes.

No need for a waiting room, come in the back door, a private entrance with a private pretty nurse escort. It is an unnecessary extravagant entitlement that is costing Mississippi. No sour grapes here. It is what I call common sense, others call it fiscally conservative, others call it responsible. You, on the other hand sound like a Liberal working for the Republican cluster here.
If it is an emergency that is another issue but if Barbour wants to pay the difference that would be the “RIGHT” thing to do for someone who really loves Mississippi, or cares about being conservative. Governor Hayley Barbour is not a genuine Conservative. He is part of the politics as usual good’ol’boy club. His popularity will fade as he is exposed for who he really is.

I am not informed about the event you are referring too. However, If YOU were Gov, Pres, VP, current or former; I would expect the hospital to do whatever, whenever, and however they need to give you the care you needed. It does not matter whether I liked you. I would want you to have that care, due to your service to the Public.

What are you thinking?
