NRCC To Poll In MS-04

September 24, 2010

Politico is reporting that the NRCC is expanding their playing field via new ad buys. In addition, they are also looking for new targets in other places for possible expansion. This includes the Fourth District where they have begun polling to test Gene Taylor’s vulnerability.

This ought to be as good of a sign as any to find out if the NRCC think they have a legitimate shot at MS-04. While I doubt we’ll ever see the results of those polls, we will know what they are saying if we see the NRCC commit to purchase air time in the relatively inexpensive district.

Gene Taylor is very vulnerable in the 4th district…when the people find out how he manipulates his votes to further the liberal agenda and then, at the last “publicized” vote, votes no, they are outraged….when the people see how he and his staff act toward his constituents when they ask the hard questions, they are outraged.
The only reason Gene Taylor has been considered to be invincible in the 4th district is because people have been asleep in the past, the local media is in his pocket, and no real opponent has tried to unseat him. Well, we are no longer asleep. The local media had better wake up as well. And, while Steven Palazzo does not have the polish of a seasoned politician, that means that he will be unable to lie to the people–who WILL hold his feet to the fire. We will not be lulled back to sleep.

The reason Taylor gets elected is because he is probably more conservative than some of the RINO’s in the GOP…ever looked close at Olympia Snowe?

I am not fond of things Taylor has done either…voting for the Military Appropriations bill with the hate crimes stupidity in it was a horrible move.

That said, what are we to do. We are not fond of Taylor, but what alternative to we have?

A.) Vote for a Big Government candidate (Palazzo) whose votes on Eminent Domaian makes any real conservative want to puke, plus the guy has been caught intentionaally lying over and over again. Remember the “news” release from his campaiagn that “Mike Lott” had joined his camapaign……giving the public the impression that the REAL Mike Lott had endorsed him?….the “Mike Lott” Palazzo USED to commit fraud on the public was some backwoods nobody that no one knew.
In other words Palazzo would do or say anything to get elected…..and we are supposed vote for this clown because he has an “R” next to his name. Not anymore.

Evidently Palazzo is even worse than I thought..see: http://www.mississippiinformer.com looks like Palazzo has a history of underhanded activities.

Here we go again…another opportunity lost. Will the GOP ever learn?

Yes I have seen this garbage before. Tegerdine supporters were passing it around before the primary. Unfortunately some of them are still not over losing. The trouble is the same people who spread this trash around also have been accused of voter intimidation, stalking, vandalism, trespassing, and a whole lot of other stuff. The black helicopter people are at it again. They see a conspiracy around every corner. Well I hate to be the one to break it to you, but most people don’t care who you are let alone plotting to get you some how.

“Richard Keefer” is the guy who filed these complaints….. dare to guess who he is? Yes… a Tegerdine supporter and member of the 912 movement. The sad part of this tale is both Joe and Steve are great guys. I wish I could say the same for some of their loony tune supporters. These allegations are baseless. The FEC will do what they have to do but nothing will come of this.

Dick Morris quoted some polling numbers this morning on fox for D4. Had Taylor 45% – Palazzo 41% with +/- 4% error. The numbers come for the Tarrance group. This is Huge news. I called the Palazzo campaign hq tand they confirmed.

    Taylor 45%
    Palazz0 41%
    +/-4%

TOSS – UP – This is huge!

Palazzo is a businessman who understands economics. Taylor’s recent comment that HE WOULD NOT SUPPORT EXTENDING THE BUSH TAX CUTS further illustrates how stupid he is and reason enough to vote against him. If you do not understand the importance of extending the tax cuts to small business, etc(which obviously Taylor doesn’t comprehend) then you are too damn dumb to be voting anyway.

Dear Mr. “Original” aka your depth of capacity stops at inventing screen-names with “sucks” on them and parroting the Old Guard Trumpet of “vote for our BOY”. Unfortunatley, due to either a lack of investigative skills, lack of political maturity or God forbid you are embracing liberal ideology and just doing what “feels right”, regardless, you have improperly labeled Mr. Palazzo as a “conservative”.

I do in fact support REAL conservatives, now and in the past and will in the future. Ones that will stand up for our property rights and not drop down on all fours when he “hears his masters voice” like Palazzo did, TWICE.

Then, just to prove he is a BIG government, progressive “republican” he votes to force the citizens to get a prescription to buy a common cold remedy, instead of placing the burden on the drug dealers Palazzo limits YOUR rights…again.

Show me a real conservative and I will support them. I just sent money to
    Christine O’Donnel http://christine2010.com/
and Joe DioGuardi in New York http://www.dioguardiforussenate.com/home.php and I have a letter on my desk with a contribution to Mike Lee who is running for Senate in Utah and beat out the RINO served up by the utah GOP. I am looking forward to contributing to races in several other states, supporting in all instances, Republicans that are true conservatives, not ones I have to watch like a hawk and cannot depend on.

What have you done other than throw in your 2 cents on a blog.

Once upon a time I thought like you so I can have sympathy for you. I too, once voted for the person with the “R” next to their name. What I got was pathetic excuses for real conservatism, like Trent Lott, Thad Cochran, John McCain, Lindsey Graham and on and on.

We are at a place in history where it is critical that we elect people of character. Unfortunately that is not a quality I find in Mr. Palazzo, quite the opposite. I find a politician willing to do and say anything to get elected. We are supposed to trust a person like that. Perhaps in your world that works, it does not in mine.

And Dear Ms. Glinda, I guess, using your liberal line of reasoning, or lack thereof, you would look the other way if credible information is presented that a candidates campaign is enganged in serious violations of federal law, just because you happen to support them. Or if you had “heard that garbage before”, as if repetition somehow, in your universe, devauled a credible report, you offer nothing tangible, you just repeat talking points that look for all the world as if they came off of the Huffington Post of the Daily Kos. I pray you never sit on a jury, for with the reasoning you employ the entire Rebuplic would be placed in jeopardy.

Unable to make a case as to why a serious investigation should not occur (or) why Palazzo’s campaign has, instead of airing this “garbage” (to use your words) early on and dispatching it( assuming there was no violation) what have they done…..everythig they could to stop it from seeing the light of day. That does not look like the actions of an innocent party, quite the opposite in fact.

If you and your like minded friends wish to place your support in a candidate of this sort, so be it. I for one am finished voting for the lesser of EVILS. Done and over with. I, like many I know have drawn the line in the sand and I am not crossing over to send an unprincipled person to congress. I don’t give a damn how many “r’s” you tack on to their name it can’t inject character whereapparently none exists.

To borrow a well used term from the last campaign cycle “You can put lipstick on a pig, but it is still a pig”. The choice we are presented with stinks to high heaven and no amount of perfume will mask the smell.

Good luck in abandoning principle to vote this time around. I and virtually everyone I know are setting our sights on 2012 for this districts representative. Perhaps by then the MS GOP will have grown some brain cells, enough at least to grasp reality.

I have a bag full of clothespins that were used in the McCain Presidential campaign I can ship you, however I can tell you from experience it does not do much for the “experience” when voting. It may help mask the smell, but you still are left with that “dirty feeling” that no amount of showering seems relieve. Try bathig in tomatoe juice, I did not try that and I heard it maay work.

The clothespins are yours for free. I will even pay the postage. I have no further need for them as I am finished compromising my principles to vote republican that has none. My ammo (money) is being shipped off to places where they have a shot at electing men and women that have some (character).

The “bitterness” of finding out, too late, that YOU have made a horrible choice will not soon fade.

Thinking “sucks”….and it takes lots of effort and a willingness to take the long, hard road. It is easy to grasp a party slogan and pull the lever for a candiate. Our Founding Fathers understood that principle.

Just wondering why a self proclaimed conservative would use a lefty website to bad mouth the Republican nominee? Gee Wally could it be someone who has an agenda… Someone who is trying to sew discontent and divide conservatives? FYI you use the conservative label as if it is somehow only legit if your definition is used. Heres a clue – there are many types of conservatives. Social, fiscal, neo, paleo, etc. Taylor and Palazzo are both social conservatives. However only Palazzo is also a fiscal conservative while Taylor is a tax and spender. Neither are paleo’s because they do not support a non-interventionist foreign policy. So my question to you is what do you mean by “conservative?” If you mean Libertarian or Constitutionalist then you need to use other terms to make your argument because those ideal viewpoints contain both liberal and conservative elements.

On the other issues you named: Eminent domain – you obviously dont believe that he stood virtually alone because he thought it would buy him favor do you? Only success does that in politics, loyalty is great but is not good currency in that world. He stood virtually alone on principle. Have you read Palazzo’s reasons for his vote… no? What about other legislation he has promoted relating to the issue? no? It would be a good idea before you trash him. On the meth vote – Every law enforcement agency in this state wanted that vote, the Lt. Governor wanted it. Why? because cleaning up meth labs was bankrupting local law enforcement agencies. But that would be fine with you I guess. They knew it would trade one type of crime (meth labs) for another (organized crime) but they have to clean up fewer labs. It was a dark victory. If you hold that against him then your idealism is blinding you to reality. Hey guess what not all of us are libertarians who want to legalize dope.

Here is a rebuttal to your FEC comments – Here is why my statements are valid – If your peeps actually had evidence why did they wait until September 2010 to file a complaint? I know for a fact they were spreading that stuff around in the early spring. Please don’t try and claim some kind of moral high ground because it is wasted on me. All this is is Revenge. They (the conservative voters of South Mississippi) defeated a popular gad fly candidate and some of the more devoted members of that cult are still not over it. They would rather give the election to the incumbent than see their former oponent win. You obviously do not respect the will of the people. Seen this before many times. It is childish and it will only harm the chances of the candidate the people did choose.

It is my hope that the people you and your cronies are trying to influence will see your anger for what it really is. I also hope that yall will channel your passion into something that will actually help the people of South Mississippi. When real patriots lose a battle they buckle down and prepare to fight the next one. They don’t sit around a whine. At least most folks I know in your circle have realized that walking the path you are taking will only empower the Obama socialists. Idealism is great for making us feel good and helps us sleep at night, but the world I live in is less than ideal and sometimes you have to be pragmnatic. Win what battles you can and keep fighting for more. Even Tegerdine said “winning is everything!” Is it?

It is amazing to me how such vitriolic attacks take place in an election. The allegation that Steven’s campaign took up Tegerdine signs has never been proven. It is just an allegation and nothing more. If I wanted to make an allegation, perhaps someone should respond to the one about Taylor going to Destin, Fla all the time and partying with young girls. You see how these things start. Things like that should not be said unless it can be proven. I heard that rumor and just ignored it, but when unethical people spew it as the truth, it dirty s the whole process. Stick to the facts.

Dear Poppy: Here are the FACTS for you:

Wells Griffith, Palazzo’s first Campaign Manager was caught on video stealing a Tegerdine sign. Wells confessed this to Brad White, head of the MS GOP, additionally (Wells) initially told George Birdrow, Chair of the Harrison County GOP Executive Committee that he had “not” been caught, then had to crawl back to George and admit that yes, he had been caught stealing signs.

When people start telling lies it never works, as Wells quickly found out. Wells Griffith KNOWS he was caught because he saw the person filming him and went back and confronted the person and begged for the video not to be released. The person that took the video promised not to do so as long as Wells was truthful about what had happened. Wells informed Palazzo he had been caught and informed the head of the MS GOP, and the head of the Harrison County Executive Committee. Try calling Brad White or George Birdrow before you call people who tell the truth “unethical”, I am sure these two gentlemen care enough about their character not to sacrifice theirs to protect someone else’s unethical actions.

While we are on the subject of the TRUTH, before you bring this up, let’s take a close look at the FACTS with regards to the Federal Election Commission Complaint. The only way to get to the bottom of it is to allow someone with subpoena powers the ability to investigate it. Doesn’t it seem strange that while a lot of doctors and others with deep pockets were donating $100 and $250, while a lot of folks who do not make much money, acting like deep pocket types? VERY ODD.
    Just a few examples:
a.) A postal maintenance worker who donated $4000.00 then bragged it came from Palazzo’s dad.
b.) An LPN who donated the max ($4,800)
c.) A hair dresser giving the max ($4,800 under 2 different names one a business and the other personal)
    d.) A Bar Owner giving $2,000
e.) A Social Security Administration Clerk giving $2,000
f.) A total of $18,000 from only NINE “Retirees”
    g.) $5,900 from two “Homemakers”

If you want to vote for and support these kinds of people that is your right. There has been so many untruths (I am being polite here) that have come from the Palazzo campaign I lost track of them. Honestly I stopped counting.

    Dear Dave,

Your boy lost. Let it go. And this is coming from a gal not in your district, so no dog in this fight.

As to your “suspicious” contributions, here are a few reasons why they might not be so, well, suspicious.

a: You got that on video, sir? Otherwise, it’s a rumor so plug it up.
b: Maybe this LPN doesn’t have kids, or does and also has a rich husband, why is it so hard to believe that a nurse would donate to a campaign if she was so inclined?
c: My hair dresser charges $120 a pop, and I see her every 4-6 weeks. You do the math.
d: Bar owner. Why do I even need to comment on the financial status of a bar owner? Cash business in need of cashing out.
e: SS Clerk. Is this a second career for a gov’t employee? I know plenty that have retired and moved on to new guv’ment jobs, while still collecting the retirement check.
f: Speaking of retirees….I know several who could buy and burn the city of Gulfport, and their job status is, officially, a “Retiree”.
g: As a homemaker, I take offense that you would assume I don’t have the funds to contribute any dollar amount to a political campaign, much less max it out.

In short, you’ve stereotyped lots of folks in your comments. No wonder your boy lost.

What are you thinking?
