Thursday Afternoon Election Notebook
A couple notes on the 2011 elections…
** Tate Reeves has his annual Bravo fundraiser lined up for May 9. This particular fundraiser dates back to seven years ago, with this year’s event supposed to “bigger than ever.”
** The Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee recently had a job posting on Craig Roberts Jobs Distribution List looking for campaign workers in 2011 states, including Mississippi. Here is the text of their announcement (which I believe is no longer on that site):
*Campaign Talent Needed for 2011 States*
The DLCC also is accepting resumes for a talent bank for state legislative campaign positions in Virginia, New Jersey, Louisiana and Mississippi.
Please send resumes to talent@dlcc.org. Strong candidates for CampaignManager, Field Director, and Finance Director positions will be submitted to those states’ caucus directors.
** Posting on Twitter, Jackson attorney Joe Nosef said he was “seriously considering” a run for the Senate District 25 seat left open by the retirement of Sen. Walter Michel. Here is a bio on Nosef.
Speaking of this seat, Michel was on the Gallo show this morning and said that he has heard from several people interested in running.
** Lynn Fitch has a “Ladies Night Out” fundraiser scheduled for April 18 in Ridgeland. Here is a flyer of the event.
