Lines Drawn In Burton/ Campbell Primary

One of the most interesting legislative primaries this summer will likely be the SD 31 contest between Sen. Terry Burton and Rep. Tad Campbell. We have talked a little about this race when news broke that Campbell was challenging Burton, and yesterday they were both on WMOX to discuss their campaigns. It is clear that redistricting will be the issue here, and I suppose we will learn how voters feel about it in August.

Burton, for his part, gave a strong defense of the Senate map (arguing his plan would have given the GOP the ability to win 38 seats), and said he never supported the House maps in any fashion. Campbell has a difference of opinion as you would imagine. Check out the interviews below:
