Gregg Harper Endorses Phil Bryant

June 30, 2011

Earlier today, the Phil Bryant campaign sent out an email with an endorsement from Rep. Gregg Harper. In it, Harper said:

“I’ve had the great privilege of knowing Phil Bryant for many years. He and I have worked closely together to help elect Republicans throughout Mississippi, and now I’m honored to have the opportunity to help him in his campaign for Governor.

Phil Bryant’s work as State Auditor and Lt. Governor clearly demonstrates his dedication to our state, and his high level of ability and preparedness to be our next Governor. With the many challenges facing our state–from the budget to education to natural disasters that have affected so many families recently–Phil’s experience makes him ready to lead on day one.

I have admired Phil for many years. Phil’s leadership is characterized by his hard work and a strong commitment to conservative, common sense values. I’ve observed his dedication to his family as well as the State of Mississippi, and I’m convinced he will be a great leader as our Governor. That’s why I’m for Phil.”

I am so pleased our Congressman with a seat on the Commerce committee overseeing FCC has the time to endorse a candidate in his party’s primary. Now hopefully he can find time to visit with the Mississippi based firm that is the only nationwide cable television network domiciled in the state and has been literally begging for help with FCC since Chip and Trent have left office.

Who cares? Harper is a non-entity, except in his mind and in the mind of a few Rankin County GOPers.

Every body wants to buddy up with Phil. Remember, he is still the Lt. Governor until January. I’ve had several business owners with Phil sign in their yard, tell me they’re not voting for him but they don’t want any grief from him prior to the election. I don’t blame them.

Is this the same Ron Williams running for Governor?

Surely if it is, you aren’t being catty about an opponent are you?

      Hey Brenda,

It is me. I’m a little under the weather, so I’ve taken a day off the campaign trail. I welcome your comments or questions. Although I’m not sure what “catty” really means.

It didn’t appear to me that Ron was being catty; seemed pretty direct.
