Christie To Skip Fundraiser In Jackson

Chris Christie will miss the GOP’s “Salute to Haley” fundraiser in Jackson tonight. New Jersey was hit by Hurricane Irene, and Christie decided to stay in town to handle issues related to flooding. Leaving the state during any type of disaster or troubling time is always a tricky political move. Last winter, Democrats hit Christie for staying in Disney World while the Northeast was hit by blizzards.
Christie has apparently been in communication with Haley Barbour about the storm. Barbour is certainly a good person to be speaking with in how to deal with disaster response, and I imagine he’d agree with the decision.
