Tracy Arinder Drops Out Of HD75 Race

September 13, 2011

Rep. Tracy Arinder, a Democrat who had qualified for re-election as an independent, was granted a request by the Elections Commission today to be removed from the HD 75 ballot. This means just Democrat Tom Miles and Republican Brenda Whatley-Kirby will be on the ballot. After initially saying that he would be retiring, Arinder then re-entered the race as an independent setting up a three way race. It looks like he has retired, again.

More decisions by the Elections Commission:

** They have removed Democrat Rick Spencer from the HD 15 ballot. This means Republican Mac Huddleston is now unopposed in his re-election bid.

** Also removed was Republican Ed Mattox in SD 7. This means that Democrat Hob Bryan is now unopposed in his re-election bid this fall.
