An Ole Miss Centered PAC Forms
The RedBlue Political Action Committee was recently formed, with a statement first published on their website today. This PAC is independent of Ole Miss, but serves a similar role to Bully Bloc and Mississippi State.
Here is what the group says they’re all about:
“RedBlue PAC was created by an independent group of alumni and friends of Ole Miss to advance the interests of our beloved university. It is vital that those who love Ole Miss step up to the plate to provide funds that will be used to support candidates who will protect our university, and advance the goals and policies set forth by our leaders.
RedBlue PAC will provide support through campaign contributions to qualified candidates running for statewide or legislative office in Mississippi. Through an in-depth research and interview process, candidates will be selected based on the idea that they are dedicated to supporting Ole Miss once elected. RedBlue PAC will not participate in local or federal elections.”
You can see the board of directors here.
As we have talked about with Bully Bloc, these higher-education PACs are generally a new phenomenon. Not many schools have them, but they stand to be much more common in the coming years. And, as we have mentioned, the next governor will appoint eight of the 12 members of the state College Board- something certainly not lost on any school in the state.
We will be following up with any endorsements and contributions.
