Crisler: If ‘We’ Show Up, ‘We’ Win
Both Jackson Jambalaya and Yall Politics have the story from the Macon Beacon on how Marhsand Crisler, Democratic candidate for Central District Transportation Commissioner, has been playing the race card with campaign cards that he has been handing out. Basically he gave out different campaign cards with different language on them depending on if he was visiting with white or black voters.

Much like the language used at the Gary Houston rally at a black church in Meridian, is anyone surprised by this or think that Crisler is the only one doing this? It was documented on how Bill Luckett would pass out campaign fliers featuring Morgan Freeman on them when campaigning in black neighborhoods. Perhaps he did that in Tishomingo county as well, but I would venture to say not.
But here is the ironic thing: You may remember Crisler ran for mayor of Jackson against Harvey Johnson (and others) in 2009. Do you remember that campaign? Johnson and his people turned Crisler into the white candidate, tying him in with every white person in Northeast Jackson. And few have the race card down to a science like Johnson does, and it worked to perfection. Crisler didn’t even win the ward he represented on the city council. The race wasn’t even close thanks to Johnson’s campaign.

I find it quite interesting that when a black candidate uses the same tactics as white candidates, they quickly become racists. Come on people. Mr. Crisler did nothing that your candidates haven’t always done and continue to do. I don’t need to provide you with the ‘code words’ your candidates use in their campaign literature and advertising that serve to alert those voters to who they should be voting for. It’s quite comical. I read articles on this site with interest and comment on occasion when I desire to do so. Most of the time, it really isn’t necessary. However, on this occasion I felt the need. Perhaps Mr. Hall should learn how to speak to more than one group of people. Maybe he wouldn’t be as concerned with his re-election. Finally, to borrow a phrase, ‘don’t hate the playa, hate the game’
I have never heard a white candidate say anything about increasing “Caucasian participation” and if Caucasian people show up, “We win”. I think you should provide those “code words”, otherwise you are full of crap.

Fred, you went way over the top! Who mentioned caucasian anything? You obviously knew the ‘code words’ because it seems to have touched a nerve. I believe Mr. Crisler said that ‘If We Show Up, We Win’. It sounds like a candidate talking to his definitive supporters. The other flyer is for his hopeful supporters. It’s unfortunate that this went over your head.
Show us an example of a Republican doing this. An actual example. You said Republicans do this. We all know you’re full of it. If they did, it would be front page headlines across the country. Now show us Republicans doing what Crisler did or admit that you are full of crap.
You can not argue against facts. The partisan politics in this state and country are getting us no where. This is why we are in need of a third party. kippost1306 did not mention Republicans. However did specifically mention whites ,which are Caucasian for the less intelligent, and blacks. To say that this card is not racist is an out right denial of the facts. I quote again”The central district is now majority Democrat and majority AFRICAN AMERICAN. It is simple,”"If WE show up, WE win!”" No code needed, it is clearly defined, “WE” means “AFRICAN AMERICAN”. I do not support Mr. Hall nor Mr. Crisler but the truth is the truth. If there is proof of Mr. Hall speaking only to one group of people then produce it or quit spreading lies and rumors. Lets quit this useless bickering and get something done that matters now and secures the future for ALL our children.
