Becky Currie Speaks About MSA
This issue has been talked about in good detail recently on the Paul Gallo show, and it concerns a new group known as Kids PAC that has been sending out deceitful mailers in HD 92, possibly other places. First the PAC- it is run by Cecil Brown (who is running for Speaker of the House) and Johnny Stringer, chairman of the Appropriations committee, both McCoy Democrats. Both men also support moving the Mississippi School for of the Arts from Brookhaven to Columbus, where the Mississippi School for Math and Science is located.
The mailers that their PAC has been sending out said that Becky Currie, the Republican who represents Brookhaven in House, supported that move- and that obviously wasn’t meant in a positive light. Bill Sones, chairman of the board of the MSA Foundation, “expressed puzzlement about the mailer and said Currie has always been an ally of MSA,” according to the Daily Leader. From 2008-10, Currie worked to defeat stand alone bills that would close the school. No bill came up in 2011.

I’m working with Becky next weekend, going door-to-door. She is a true Conservative and is very much needed by this State. She understands that the House has robbed Peter to pay Paul. I’ve had the pleasure of sitting in the House gallery, and watching Becky stand time and time again for the taxpayer. I always feel secure knowing that Becky is on my side in that fight.

Beckie Currie is as solid as you can get at the Capitol, and Brown and Stringer are doing nothing except to try to save their own jobs and retain a shred of influence in the House. This is yet another example in a long list of how treacherous the Democrats are and how low they’ll sink to lie to the pubic about their opponents. Becky has been in the forefront of many battles in her first term and has learned a lot, and the voters of her district can sleep soundly knowing she’s making every decision and casting every vote with their interests in mind. I know quite a few lawmakers and have known Becky longer than she’d probably care to admit, and while there are plenty of other good legislators there are none more dedicated than she is. The voters of District 92 need to return her to Jackson so she can continue with the great representation that they deserve.
