…And Now Joe Tegerdine’s Q1 Numbers

April 21, 2010

Joe Tegerdine’s First Quarter numbers are officially in, and they are showing that he raised around $12,500 this quarter (a little less than $31,000 this election cycle). He spent about $11,000 from the January 1- March 31 period, and now has $4,431 cash on hand.

We now have everyone’s totals for the quarter, and you can find that information here, here, here, here and here.

I told all of you that Tegerdine is a non-issue. Do you believe me now?
If not put your money where your mouth is because $12,500 is sad.

Joe has had over 600 citizens of Mississippi donate to his campaign. They may not have been big donations from PACS, and out of state organizations, but the last time I checked PACS and organizations can’t vote.

I am assuming that is a shot at Taylor because as you should be aware 100% of Palazzo’s fundraising came from individuals.

I looked at Palazzo’s and $121,000.00 came from 76 donors, 71 of those were from Ms.
But not all of those 71 Ms. donors were from this voting district. Palazzo also received Lots of large donations from family members and business partners.

Anyway when you look at the donations as each supporter who donates to your campaign will probably vote for you…. that amounts to less than 70 votes for Palazzo.

I just posted a new blog that just came into that mentions this very subject. Wow Timing.

The blog is about a family who gave up their vacation to help fund Joe Tegerdine’s campaign.

Money is not going to be in the voting booths – people of the 4th congressional district will be.

The question – if Tegerdine gets the nod would those 76 people be as generous with their donations and would Palazzo be willing to donate the balance of his war chest to Tegerdine’s campaign?

The answer to that reveals character… and Steve – if Tegerdine is such a non-issue why are you so worried about him?

We may get real change in Mississippi – wouldn’t that be something?

In a perfect world, money in elections would be even or wouldn’t be the deciding factor. However, we don’t live in a perfect world. The bottom line is that you need money to win elections, especially against a well entrenched incumbent. Some may not like to hear it but its the truth. If people are going to take Tegerdine seriously he is going to need to raise more money.

Joe winning against an opponent that outspends him 10 to 1 will be one step closer to a perfect world.

Liberty – You failed to mention that your boy from Oregon, Joe TEGERINE, is taking $money$ from CALIFORNIA and FLORIDA. I don’t have a problem with people taking contributions from friends and business partners who know and support them. I DO HAVE A PROBLEM with JOE taking $money$ from yet another company that IMPORTS CHINESE made goods. So, he speaks Chinese, he lived over there, he works for a CHINESE company and imports CHINESE products, he’s never voted in MS, only lived here for 2 years, and he wants to represent MISSISSIPPIANS.

To me, it looks like JOE TEGERINE would know better how to represent the CHINESE than South Mississippians.

Go ahead personally attack me and tell me I’m crazy – like yall do to everyone that questions anything about Joe. That seems to be the Joe Tegerine Campaign Plan – “Attack everyone who questions him and lie about everyone running against him.”

Joe Tegerdine chose to live in Mississippi. I think his experience living in 5 states and overseas gives him experience that can be very beneficial to us. You really should sit down and talk with the guy before accusing him of being some horrible person because he did not grow up here. He’s trying to make a positive difference by taking on a congressional lifer that no longer represents us… why hate him for that? No other Republican was willing to step up to the plate last year when Tegerdine made his decision to run. And as far as international business is concerned, last I checked, Palazzo makes a living helping people who work overseas file their taxes. So he helps those who are shipping foreign products to the U.S. When was doing honest work a crime? I hope you don’t take this as an attack, I just think we need to be civil and not hate our candidates because they both benefit from a global economy. Take some time to meet and talk to them.

So how long does someone have to be in the state before they are a Mississippian? How bout those snowbirds and of course all those retired military from Keesler, the NCNB and Stennis? Should they wait until they actually vote in an election before we call them Mississippians?

Perhaps we ought to tell Nissan and Toyota they can spend their money here but they won’t really be considered a Mississippi company until they actually start paying taxes.

As for the Chinese connection. They own our debt. I consider it a real Plus to have someone in our court that actually knows how to do business with them and knows a lot about them. Seems to me they got money to spend and I would have no problem with them spending money in our state. As I understand it the Chinese would love to invest in Mississippi but those draconian corporate tax laws that Gene Taylor is so fond of are spooking them and they are afraid Pres. Obama is going to finish off the economy.

You might also check into how many jobs Joe’s company has brought to Mississippi and I have not quite figured out why is it OK for the Japanese to create jobs in Mississippi but not the Chinese? Shopped at Walmart lately? Pehaps Walmart can stop selling that cheap chinese stuff? Right now the tax dollars off that cheap chinese stuff is all that some cities have to keep their doors open.

So Hank – if Tegerdine gets the nod are you going to refuse to support him? Or are you really a Gene Taylor supporter that is lurking in the conservative ranks trying to drive a wedge in the GOP? See liberals avoid real discussion of the issues by claiming things are personal attacks or racism or they like to use terms like green and eco.

I can engage in genuine discussion supporting my choice for the GOP slot without slamming Palazzo (I spelled the name correctly).

I really like Palazzo personally – I just think his idea of representing his constituents is wrong – he votes what he thinks is best – not what his constituents want – I didn’t make that up he actually said it at the April 15th Tea Party in Gulfport.

I also have serious doubts that he (or any old dog GOP boy including Haley Barbour) stands a chance of getting any moderate democat or independent votes because those people just flat don’t trust the old dogs of the GOP. Without those votes we are stuck with the Gene Taylor two step soft shoe and Nancy Pelosi’s tyranny.

    @Hank Followers

WARNING: Hank is NOT from Mississippi. He is definitely a Democrat from out of state working for the Traylor Campaign. Notice Hank misspelled MISSISSIPPIANS among many other misspellings and he makes up lies to instill fear into the voters. Just be aware that these actions do NOT come from the SP team or SP supporters. That is SCIU/ACORN style and that is from the Democrats.

Hank do you have proof that the American owned an operated Company Joe works for was at some point bought out by the Chinese? Nope? Didn’t think so. It is an American Company that has one manufacturing branch in China so they can continue to provide many wonderful jobs and products for American moms and dads. Joe, more then anyone else, can and will fight to bring Jobs back to America. Hank, Mississippians want Jobs back on American soil as well as all Americans.

I suppose Hank seeks the intellect of the Rep. from Georgia who told an Admiral in the US Navy that if we add more Marines to the island of Guam it may “capsize!” LOL!!! He was dead serious!

Joe didn’t just live in China, he told people about Jesus who had never heard of Jesus before. Most Mississippians find Missionary work and a 2nd language skills to be admirable qualities. Funny how Hank can make it all sound so criminal. It is a Democrat Attack upon the strongest Republican competitor.

Conservatives must unite to rid Mississippi of the Democratic/Pelosi stronghold in our district.

By the way don’t blame Hank and others like him either. They are just being “used” by the progressives and are told lies to keep them ignorant and to instill hostility in their online attacks. We must continue to pray for wisdom and protection. Expect these Democrat attacks to grow in number and intensity and spill over onto SP as well. If it bothers you do not visit the sites where these attacks are carried out. Keep focused on the fight for our Liberty and our Nation and never grow weary of doing what is good and right.

What Joe has is over 700 volunteers working for his campaign. Name 1 election in Mississippi’s 4th congressional district that has that many volunteers ever, not to mention this early in the campaign. We have 2 candidates running for the Republican nomination. On has $125,000 and pays his staff, one has 700 volunteers working for free. So lets do the math. If 700 volunteers put in 10 hours a week on the campaign. If you had to pay each volunteer $5.00 per hour that totals up to $35,000 per week in campaign expenses. Joe gets that for free every week. These are the same volunteers that got the Voter I.D. petition signed and put on the ballot. Since that only happened once before in state history, you would think the Republican Party would realize its not a good idea to piss those people off.

Those volunteers are going to vote for Joe. Their families and friends are going to vote for Joe. You can try to buy the election all you want with special interest money and a career political candidate but its not going to happen. This election is going to come down to boots on the ground and volunteers in the trenches plain and simple.

I am a political naif. I have never put up a yard sign advocating a candidate. I have made a few political donations to various GOP fund raising organizations, but never to an individual candidate. I voted for Gene T four freakin’ times (oh the shame). Those days are over; the Dems are literally destroying our great country and the liberties that make us strong.

I now proudly sport a Joe Tegerdine ball cap and have his sign in my yard. I made a personal donation to him even though I am cash strapped. So thank you Dems for finally waking me up, and thank you Joe for running the kind of platform and race that I can wholeheartedly support.

What are you thinking?
