DCCC Prepares Ad-Buy’s For Childers
As we mentioned recently, the DCCC- the campaign arm of House Democrats- plans on spending about $28 million in defense of 40 incumbents this fall. Rep. Travis Childers, already with a strong cash-on-hand advantage over Alan Nunnelee, is among that group of 40. Today, we got a little more clarification on just how and where the DCCC will be spending that money. There is just one buy in Mississippi totaling $198,000 and it comes in the Tupelo-Columbus market. Of course, your dollar goes a lot further in that market then say, New York or Philadelphia. There are also three separate purchases in the Memphis market totaling over $1 million. But we do not know for sure how much will be spent in support of Childers in the Desoto county area, or for other Democrats in Tennessee or Arkansas. Here is that breakdown: Memphis- Sked A for $561,150; Memphis- Sked B for $334,015; and Memphis- Sked C for $336,145.
