The latest polling data from The Tarrance Group shows that Alan Nunnelee has opened up a 51-40 lead over Travis Childers. This is the first time any candidate has been at or over the 50 percent mark in the race. The previous poll put Nunnelee up 48-41.

Other data:

- Nunnelee holds a 15 point lead among “extremely likely” voters (54-39)

- Nunnelee leads 56-38 among voters who have impressions of both he and Childers

- Of the 75 percent of voters who have seen, read or heard something about the Childers campaign, 43 percent are less likely to vote him based on that information

- 32 percent say Childers deserves re-election

- Republicans maintain a 53-39 edge on the generic Congressional ballot

The poll of 300 likely voters was done October 4-5 and has a 5.8 percent margin of error.

“Tarrance Group”?? wonder who funds them or asked for their poll?
300 people? were they all Nunnelee relatives? lol
win or lose,ALL Candidates should either reply on independant mass polls such as Rasmussen, or shun them for bias.just like the Wally Pang poll of Nunnelee 33%,Pang 30%–and TARVIS 23%–pure bunk–

National pollsters like Rasmussen aren’t going to waste their time or money on Congressional elections. In fact there are very little independent polls done on Congressional races. The most likely sources are TV stations and newspapers and we know what their situations are like financially- not good, so they really don’t have the resources to do much. Some colleges do polling, would be cool if the new Trent Lott Institute at Ole Miss started polling but like I said it’s very expensive.

Given that the Tarrance Group only does polling for Republicans, one should not give this poll much credibility, these type polls are often sponsored by both the democrat and republican parties for candidates to create media buzz.

News Flash… Campaigns don’t have the resources to waste money on fake polling. Paulo you sound like a low level Childers staffer who has been instructed to discredit the numbers because your boss knows they are true. And Grizz is just Grizz.

Childers is seeing his demise because he voted for Nancy, he voted for the stimulus twice and he won’t repeal Obamacare. He just doesn’t fin North Mississippi!

Tom, you sound like a Nunnelee fanatic, but you are correct that the Nunnelee campaign is now looking hard for money to compete with Childers on Ads in the next few weeks. Unfortunately the Tarrance Group poll is really not worth the paper it is printed on. My guess
from talking with the Nunnelee staff it is still neck and neck. Noone has a lead big enough to call.

Seriousvoter, did you just fly in from DC to work for Childers? Childers could spend 5 times more than Nunnelee and he will still lose because he voted for Pelosi, the stimulus (twice) and he won’t repeal ObamaCare. I know you DC boys think you are really smart but people in the 1st Congressional District don’t like Nancy, they don’t like the stimulus and they really don’t like ObamaCare. Not good news for Childers!

Sorry fella but I have lived in the the 1st District for most of my life. You are speaking for a group that have not given you permission. Maybe your friends have the same feelings you do but not all of the district are for Nunnelee or for Childers. Good luck to you – you are going to need it.

Yes Grizz is just Grizz thank you very much!
the posted Pang poll on Facebook is bunk.
    Tarrance Group,as Stated,only does Republicans. ( hint )
The Big Two Parties and Candidates DO have the funding if they wanted to spend it on polls, fake or not.As stated ,poll was from 330 people, either by e-mail,on the street,or by phone–how much do you think it cost for 3 or 4 staff folks to make 300 local calls?
Nunnelee probably IS in the lead, but I suspect poll #’s are bunk on this 1 too.
no matter which conservative wins, its bye bye TARVIS.
