New Poll Gives Nunnelee 44-39 Lead

A poll conducted by Penn Schoen Berland for The Hill gives Alan Nunnelee a 44-39 over Travis Childers in the First District Congressional race. The poll consisted of 603 likely viewers, and has a margin of error of 4.0. This was the first independent polling that we have seen of the race. We are going to get into more details later, but here is some other interesting information:

- Childers has a 47/38 favorable rating
- Nunnelee has a 49/27 favorable rating
- Obama has a 35/63 approval rating
- Nunnelee leads 48-27 among independent voters
- Childers leads 45-38 among female voters
- Nunnelee leads 52-33 among male voters
