Yesterday I posted a county map showing the stark contrast in the First District between 2008 and 2010. For the Fourth, I have just a map from Tuesday. The reasoning? In 2008, the map was all blue; Gene Taylor won every county easily. That obviously was not the case three days ago.

Stay tuned, I have a couple other cool maps I will be posting shortly.

Counties carried by Taylor are in blue; Steven Palazzo’s counties are in red.

One thing that sticks out to me….Seeing the three Coastal counties all go for Taylor, and he still lost, does that take away any of the power/attention the Coast thought they would get in the 2011 Statewide Races….

I doubt it. If Palazzo wouldn’t have been from the coast I doubt he would have won.

Without knowing the results, I would imaging that Palazzo kept it close in the coastal counties and won big in the rural counties.

That’s about how it happened. Taylor won pretty good in Hancock and Harrison and slightly in Jackson. But that was their strategy: minimize loses on the Coast, win big elsewhere.
