Six New Pine Belt Party Switches

March 2, 2011

With the qualifying deadline passing yesterday, we saw a handful of Pine Belt officials change parties and run for re-election as Republicans.

In Jones county, Circuit Clerk Bart Gavin, Sheriff Alex Hodge and Supervisor Andy Dial have all qualified as Republicans following the path recently set by District Attorney Anthony Buckley.

In Forrest county, Sheriff Billy McGee, Circuit Clerk Lou Ellen Adams and Chancery Clerk Jimmy Harvard have also decided to qualify on the GOP ticket after previously serving as Democrats.

Updates made to our running list of party switchers.
