A Couple 2012 Notes

March 11, 2011

A couple quick 2012 notes, one congressional and one presidential.

** According to the Washington Post, former Rep. Travis Childers has closed down his campaign committee following last fall’s loss. This is usually a good sign that a former member is not running again. This doesn’t mean Childers can’t run for his old seat; just makes it a little less likely.

Considering the article was referring to Blue Dogs and made no mention of former Rep. Gene Taylor, I would imagine he hasn’t closed his. I always viewed Taylor as much more likely to make a run in 2012 than Childers. We shall see.

** Add a new member to the Haley Barbour 2012 team. According to Fox News (and others), Barbour has signed James Richardson, a former online communications manager for the RNC, to handle various online duties for Haley PAC, the governor’s political action committee.

This is on the heels of the announcement that Barbour has also signed Jim Dyke, another former RNC staffer, in an adviser role.

Just another liberal democrat who doesn’t think he should be held to the letter of the law….aka Barry Obama! I hope the GOP waits until mid-campaign and then, after Luckett has spent a ton of money extolling the virtues of spending other people’s money to help those who expect the government to take care of them; that then they expose his lack of credentials and kick him out of the race via a court decision. Hope that was clear enough, I had to hold back my true feelings.

What are you thinking?
