The Mustache Returns To 2011 Campaigning

When running for Speaker of the House in 2007, Rep. Jeff Smith played off the most recognizable mustache in Mississippi politics with this logo that sat on his former campaign website, SmithForSpeaker.com.

The website is no longer live and I am not sure who owns it or if there are any plans to re-launch it following the Republican primary in August should Smith prevail. Like many people, Smith appears to have moved his web presence over to Facebook where he posted this ad; the mustache again prominently displayed.

I must admit the original mustache in 2007 was the design, as was the web site of Morgan
Bonduarant, the son of Rep. Sid Bondurant.

The newest mustache and logo is the product of my wife, Laura, a Professor of Chemistry over
    at MSU.

I was honored to help out in any way that I could for Jeff’s speaker campaign back in 2007. I learned a lot about Mississippi politics during the Speaker’s race and I can thank Jeff for that…
