Shakeup Within The Democratic Party
According to the Associated Press, former Mississippi Democratic Party Chairman Rickey Cole, who was most recently working for Bill Luckett’s campaign, has been appointed the party’s new executive director.
There had been an opening for some time following Sam Hall’s departure, but it was filled by Travis Brock who was brought in from outside Mississippi for what I presumed would be throughout the elections in November. But Brock is out and Cole is in.
Cole also acknowledged that he has interest in getting his old job as chairman back. Jamie Franks’ term is up at the end of the year. It will be interesting to see if he tries for another term following his defeat a week ago in trying to take out a fellow Democrat for his old House seat.
Wow…big news but who really didn’t see this coming in some format?
