Thad Cochran Endorses Mitt Romney
Not too long ago, it was announced that Sen. Thad Cochran will be supporting former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, as he did in 2008:
MITT ROMNEY ANNOUNCES SUPPORT OF SENATOR THAD COCHRAN
Boston, MA – Mitt Romney today announced the support of Mississippi Senator Thad Cochran.
“I am pleased to have the support of Thad Cochran,” said Mitt Romney. “He understands that Mississippi voters are looking for someone who will bring jobs back to this country. He is a committed public servant, and I am grateful to have him stand with me in my campaign.”
Announcing his support, Senator Thad Cochran said, “Our country cannot afford another four years of President Obama’s policies. Mitt Romney has the pro-growth message and the unmatched experience that will be required to improve our economy. I am proud to support him.”
According to polling from several months ago, Romney simply isn’t very popular in Mississippi. That polling included Haley Barbour and/ or Mike Huckabee, who were the top choices, but this was before Rick Perry. Should his campaign still be active by the time the Mississippi primary comes along, I imagine the Texas governor will carry the state unless something dramatic happens.
Mr.Thad Porkulous Cochran ALSO understands how to get PORK.
and BTW, Mormonism IS a cult. How many of you intelligent folks actualy believe that Joseph Smith, a 19 year old nitwit in the 1800′s wandered off into the woods and was visited by the Angel Moroni and given Golden Tablets ( which they refuse to show, and have never been seen ), with instructions to marry polygamously and move west to Utah?
The only thing young joseph was doing in the woods was shirking his days work, and smoking something he got from the indians.A POTUS named Romney will be a sore dissapointment, much like our State Senators & new Congressman.
So what? Cochran and Romney, a pair of RINO’s. Hey establishment Republicans, here’s a novel idea – how about supporting a real CONSERVATIVE this time. Not another loser like John McCain. The RINO’s can’t win anything without the support of conservatives, but just let them get elected and the first thing they do is throw conservatives under the bus. I’m sick of it. America needs a President with the courage and conviction to take on the statists in Washington, not a flip-flopper who will play footsie with the Democrats. Romney is not the answer and if he gets the nomination, I might just sit out the election just to spite all the RINO’s who keep screwing the conservative base of the party.
Thad backs Mitt? Sorry, Mitt. I didn’t like you before, I hate you now. No to Mitt and bring Thad home!
ANOTHER intelligent person in here.
Come on, folks. The process is simple. Primaries first, convention next, general election last. We’ll all be supportive of our candidates in the primaries, and that’s the way is should be, but we can only select one nominee. That person will be the only one other than President Obama – barring a Ross Perot or Ralph Nader getting in as a third party candidate – running for President, and as citizens we’re duty bound to pick the one we think will do the best job, even if it’s not the one we voted for in the primary. Every person who sits it out is helping Obama get reelected, and even those of you who don’t like Romney will have to agree that he’s a better choice for the next four years than Obama. It may not be the change you wanted, but all of us need to be prepared to back the Republican nominee if we want any change at all.
i’m joining ACORN so i can vote several times.
Hey Bill,
The problem is that unlike you and the many others on this site, who actually listen and pay attention to the candidates, many voters will vote based on name recognition. The simple fact is that we may not select the “best” man for the job. In that scenario, what does a civic minded person do? 1. Vote in a crook, because of party label. 2. Don’t vote at all. 3. Vote for he who does ths the less damage, regardless of party.
What if the Republican candidate is worse than obama? Here’s what I mean. Will we be better off with war crazy republican who has a Lobbyiost controlled Senate and House behind him, or are we better off with Stalemate and Gridlock as we are now.
Sometimes politiians who can do doing nothing is better than them doing wrong.
Boy what a great endorses from a liberal bum. This should tell you something about Romney. When he gets people like the number one Pork Spender on your side. Mr. Romney just lost me.
Wall street backs Romney. No more RINOS! Bill, sorry don’t agree with you. Where did Obamacare come from? May vote 3rd party.
Brett,
You are probably right about the Rick Perry thing and MS. But it’s time for our Party to hold our candidates to some kind of Standards. Texas is rampant with illegals taking American Jobs. Companies can hire them cheaply with no employee complaints. If that is what we stand for then let’s say it. If not, then we need to do everything we can to prevent a “Governor who has rewarded and enticed illegals across our border with tuition.” What Mechanism do we have to vote him out of the Party? Universities in Texas receive Federal Money too. So Rick has used my money to fund Illegals who take jobs from my employees. Why is that not treason or in some other measure punishable by law for aiding and abetting a criminal?
Welcome back Ron! Looking forward to exchanging blogs with you…
